There are approximately 88 people buried in our cemetery. While some headstones are currently missing, it is believed that there were originally one hundred plots. The first person buried in the cemetery was Amanda Mills Duran, September 15, 1869, the same year the church was property was purchased. Bessie Mills Doxey was the last person buried in the cemetery April 12 1972. It was common for churches to sell pews to raise money, however, First Presbyterian sold burial plots for five dollars. Early settlers on Sumner County and fourteen Confederate veterans of the War Between the States are buried in the cemetery, including Major General Daniel Smith Donelson.
